I was lucky enough to have Thursday morning free, so Hazel and I went hiking with a friend and her dogs. Brainard lake is a beautiful place just above the town of Ward and is around 10,000 ft elevation to start the hike. We got up above tree line which is around 11,500 ft. Whew! pretty high elevation but I was pleasantly surprised at how well my lungs worked. And of course Hazel was running around with her dog friends like she was at sea level.
Storm clouds were coming in, so we hustled down before the storms started.
The subject of getting moose photos has been a sore subject with me. All my friends have seen and gotten moose pics but not me! A good friend saw 7 moose the other day and happily posted that on Facebook. Oh yeah, I was jealous! When I've done craft shows and sold my photos, people would always ask for a moose pic....argh!
But today, all that changed! As were driving out from our hike, 2 handsome guys gave me some pics! Yahoo!
Of course, I will have to go back up and get more pics. But it so nice to now say " yes, I have gotten some moose pics!"
