A Great Weekend

What an excellent weekend! A few months ago I started exploring essential oils and found them quite fascinating. Besides using them with humans in my massage practice, I also wanted to know more about using them with animals. I found a class south of Denver and quickly signed up. Finally Saturday arrived and I headed down to class. It was a good hour drive and the class was very near Roxborough State Park. So I figured it was a good idea to bring my camera....just in case!

I was barely out of Boulder on highway 93 when I spotted a bald eagle enjoying some breakfast. I never get tired of seeing these magnificent birds!

I did not see much else on the way to class but I was very happy to have seen the eagle.
The class was absolutely amazing! I learned so much and met two cool dogs named Indy and Otis. Otis( a black lab mix) also came from Summit dog Rescue just like Hazel. That boy scored as he now lives on over 100 acres to enjoy and explore with his dog brother and humans!

Hazel was a very good dog and stayed home snoozing on Saturday. So I promised her that today was "Hazel Day!" We headed over to the Heatherwood trail in east Boulder for a good hike!

Here's a view of Boulder and the snow capped mountains!

I did not see the northern harrier or the kestrels but there were so many western meadowlarks just singing away! Their song is so beautiful and let's us know spring is on the way!

We hiked about 2 hours which was very fun! Hazel thought we were going home but we drove over to Coot Lake and she got to go swimming! Her most favorite thing in the whole entire world!
She is now curled up napping....she is one happy dog!
