A Gift from Cher

What a fun day! It started pretty early for me. I got up around 5:30am, took care of Molly and the kitties, then headed over to see the owls. I got there around 6:30am and had them all to myself. As I approached, Cher and Horton were sitting fairly close together high up in the tree. Cher was preening as I walked under the tree she was in. Just then she dropped a feather for me! My jaw dropped! I watched the feather float down and quickly picked it up. I thanked her and put in my pocket. I had wondering about asking her for a feather...well, she answered with a YES!
I was hoping to catch her feeding the kids but all was quiet, so I headed home for breakfast.

After breakfast, I headed down to my new favorite photo spots. I started at the nature center in Lakewood. I saw a black-crowned night heron, a snowy egret fishing and a very cute squirrel. I asked if he wanted his picture taken and he gave me the cutest look! I got some fun pics of a canada goose and a kingfisher too.
Then I headed up to Prospect Park which was fun but didn't get any fabulous pics to show.
After dinner, I went back to the owls and got a nice pic of Sonny.
I'm tired! Enjoy!

And I LOVE black crowned night herons! Have you ever heard them call? Totally otherworldly. I can't wait to go birding with you!
