Barr Lake part 2

I woke up Tuesday with plans to do office work and some house cleaning. But the day just too beautiful. The sun was shining and temperatures were gonna be in the mid 40's. So I quickly ate breakfast, packed up my camera gear and jumped in the car.
I decided to go back to Barr lake since I had so much fun on Monday. I headed down the trail and quickly came upon the pintails.......

I continued down the trail which seemed very quiet compared to yesterday. Oh well, it was beautiful day so I was still having fun. I hiked out to the gazebo hoping to see some eagles.
There was an eagle in the nest but the nest is almost a 1/2 mile from the gazebo. So it quite difficult to get a decent pic. Hopefully you can see how big the nest is compared to the eagle sitting in it.

A few immature eagles were soaring above me. They were too high up to get clear pics but it was so fun to watch them soar around!

I was headed back when the flicker gave me this nice pic.....

I hiked around for another hour or so noting how quiet it was compared to yesterday. Oh well, a day out photograhing is always fun.........

It was lunchtime, so I headed home. As I was driving, I spotted a lump on the fence near the road. I pulled a u- turn and got these excellent pics of a rough legged hawk.

I was on the other side of the road but the hawk knew I was there. I love when they make eye contact with me!

Well, it was a very fun day! I didn't get quantity but I sure got some quality pics!

  Enjoy!
