Finally.......

Whew! It has been a crazy couple of weeks. My house is under contract and now I need a new place to live. So that has been taking up lots of my time. But finally I felt like I had some time to go out photographing. So I was out of the house by 5:30am and headed down to my favorite spot.
First I spotted a family of canada geese...so cute and they are getting big!

They came up on land right in front of me....

After enjoying the geese, I went looking for momma wood duck and her young. I walked by these beautiful flowers and just had to grab a pic!

I didn't see the wood duck but I did spot the black crown night heron.......

It was pretty quiet until I got around to the east side of the pond. A kingfisher sat on top of the gazebo posing for me......

He flew over to the cormorant island and was doing some fishing. I was able to catch him in mid flight......

Here is a comorant family...mom,dad and two babies.......

Then I spotted some eggs on the island. Look like canada goose eggs. Guess they do not feel the need to build a nest......

I was watching some young mallards swim around and this cinnamon teal came by....

There were lots of mallard families all around the ponds. Here the ducklings are grooming just like mom!

I love the spotted sand pipers and they were all over. Finally got a nice pic of one.....

A snowy egret showed up but was too far off to get a good pic.....

I never get tired of seeing cute ducklings.....

It was already getting hot and it was time to go home. But I decided to stop by prospect park on the way home. It was pretty quiet all around and it was hot but I decided to see if the owls were around. The owlets have been out of the nest for at least a month, so they could be any where. But I figured it was worth a shot. Ha! My owl radar was working today! I spoptted two of them sitting together and mom was close by......

Whew! It felt so good to get out and do some photographing.........

Enjoy!
