I headed over last evening to say hi. I'm still hoping to get a pic of the kids sitting together. They have not been within 15 feet of each other since they left the nest.
Cher was sitting in a nearby tree watching the kids. Sonny was down the path and hooted at dusk rolled in. I never get tired of hearing the sounds of a great horned owl. Just amazing......
Horton and Penelope decided it was dinner time. They started making their "I'm hungry" sounds. It's a cute raspy sound that comes out of them.
Horton got pretty active and walked along a branch like it was a tight rope.....very cute!
Then Penelope got active and moved up and down the tree she was in. As darkness was settling in, the kids started hopping with a bit of flying and ended up next to each other! It was so beautiful. They hugged in an owl kind of way and sat together for a few minutes. Cher flew in with some food and then they separated and started hop flying around the trees!
I could have stood there forever but finally pulled myself away and headed home........
