Harvest moon and owls

It was a perfect night to go see if my owl friends were around. I had seen Horton last week but had not seen Penelope in awhile. So I met my friend Georgia there around 6:30pm. First we went to check out a swallow nest. There were at least 2 babies in there, maybe 3. It was a bit crowded for sure. We also saw a belted kingfisher and a red tail hawk plus lots of mallards on the lake.
Then we did walked around to the usual spots looking for the owls. As we headed over to the south end of the lake, we heard one of them asking for dinner. We soon found Penelope sitting on a branch above the lake and asking for dinner. She gave me some good pics which I thanked her for. She soon got tired of waiting for dinner to be brought to her, so she headed off across the lake to get her own food. We tried to follow her but by the time we got around to the other side of the lake, she was no where to be found. We continued looking for a bit more but no luck.....so we headed home thankful we had seen Penelope.
