We are having some very warm weather here in Colorado. Normally March is our snowiest month but that has not been the case. We've had temps in the 70's for a couple of weeks, so seems spring is here:)
So when I went to see the owls last night, I had a light jacket on instead of a heavy jacket, a
hat and gloves. The owls seemed to be enjoying the weather too. When I arrived, a man had his spotting scope fixed on Sonny. I walked up and said hello. Then I aimed the camera at Sonny to get a pic. Sonny opened one eye and the man said " wow, he opened his eye for you". I just smiled and said " yes, we're old friends". I hung out enjoying Sonny's beauty as he stretched and got ready for a busy evening. I decided to go say hi to Cher, who was in the nest. Just as I got over there, she flew out and landed in her favorite tree. She groomed and stretched for a bit.
She must get pretty stiff and sore sitting in that nest 24/7.
After she stretched, she flew back near the nest. Then Sonny arrived and they chatted for a minute. Cher flew back into the nest and Sonny headed across the lake. I imagine Cher put her order in for a yummy dinner :)
We were hungry too, so we headed home to have our dinner......
