I got some video too......
As we headed home, Elmo had emerged from his tree to call for dinner. How cute is he! He really reminds me of my cat- Clarence. Goofy and loving life to the fullest!
This morning I decided to go photography other wildlife, so I headed down to my favorite spot. The first thing I saw was a mallard with all her kids! Not a great photo but how cute are they following mom!
Then I saw these two enjoying each other's company :)
And finally a canada goose with her kids....
I felt the need to go check on the owls, so drove up past my house to the nest area. Nike was easy to find but I couldn't find Elmo. Finally a few friends came by and we spotted him in a tree all the way across the creek and the hiking trail. How he did that is a mind boggler since he can't fly yet. Again, this is why he reminds of Clarence. you never know what that boy is gonna do!
So I headed home for lunch and to get some work done. I happened to check a birding blog that said some bobolinks were seen on Cherryvale road. That road is 5 minutes from my house, so I jumped in the car to check it out. The male has all his display colors on his back, just the opposite of most birds. I had never seen one, let alone photograph one. so I was hopeful that I'd get to see one. Well, I get out of the car and in about 30 seconds I saw him hanging out waiting for me to take his pic! He flew away after about 10 minutes and another one showed up for me to take his pics! I must have taken 100 shots..thank God for digital!
Here are the best ones.....
What a fun day! Now it's raining nice and softly. We always need moisture around here, so I'm gonna go enjoy it!
