Family portrait

I decided to go back over around 6 pm monday evening. I was hoping no one had discovered where Elmo was. As I walked down the path, I held my breath hoping against hope that there was not a crowd of people starring at him. Sweet! There was no one around! I crossed the green pipe to see what Nike was up to. One other photographer was there, so we had them all to ourselves for a bit.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked up. Nike was sitting right next to momma Cher! I do not have any family pics this season, so was very excited to record this event!

What a special treat this was! I stood enjoying this this amazing event!

Oh yeah....when I first got there, a crow was was sitting near them. He was cackling at them but did keep his distance. It felt like Cher was giving Nike a lesson. You could almost hear her say " when the crows come around and harass you, this is how you act." The 2 owls sat quietly and finally the crow got bored and left. Very cool!

Other people started showing up to watch the owls. A few people thought that the baby owl with Cher was Elmo. I let them think that to keep Elmo safe from prying eyes. Meanwhile, Elmo was about 100 feet away tucked safely in a small tree.

Finally, it was time to go home. As I walked by the tree where Elmo was, he started stretching and flapping his wings. He was also calling for dinner. Cher was out hunting, so I'm sure dinner was delivered to the hungry kids very soon.....
