Momma Cher

I had more time this morning to hang out with the owls. I got over there around 7:15am. I immediately saw that Elmo was still the nest and that Cher was not in her usual tree across from the nest. I figured Cher was staying close to Nike but finding her would be a chore. With the owls starting their family one month later than last year, the foliage is much thicker.


It took me about 1/2 hour but I finally located Cher sitting in a tree.

As you can see, she's tucked in nicely. So nicely that a couple of other photographers totally missed her. When I finally found her, I knew Nike must be nearby. Finally after a few minutes, I caught a glimpse of Nike tucked way back in some foliage. She was so tucked in that a photo wasn't possible. I was actually happy about that as other photographers would leave her alone.

Sonny was in his usual spot looking so handsome and Elmo was enjoying all the space in his nest....

What a great way to start the day!
