A Very Fun Sunday

My camera and I needed to get out and do some picture taking! I had been wondering how my owl friends were doing, so I decided to pop over to twin lakes and say hi. I knew it could be a bit of a long shot to find them. The trees are still holding onto all their leaves which makes it challenging to spot anything. And they are quite mobile now, so they could be anywhere. But it was a beautiful morning, so it was worth a shot.

As I was driving over, a red tailed hawk flew across the road right in front of me and landed on some power lines.........

After enjoying the red tail, I headed over to twin lakes. I checked the trees near where I parked but all was quiet.

So I headed over to the south side of the lake. I looked up and there was one of the owls!

I quickly realized it was one of the youngsters. He was quite busy preening himself as I enjoyed watching him. Then I looked away for one second and he was gone! Darn! I do like getting flight pics, or at least attempting to......

Here's what the trails look like, so I feel quite blessed to have seen one of the owls. I am sure the others were around but I never saw them.....

I decided to head over to Walden Ponds on my way home. Not much was going on so I photographed the robins......

I was almost back to the parking lot when this dragonfly posed so nicely for me!

Well, it was fun to get out and do a bit of photographing. But there was more fun to be had! Hazel dog and I had a play date with Sherri and her dog Abby. We spent over 2 hours at Coot lake. Sherri and I got to chat and the dogs got to chase tennis balls in the lake. We all had a good time!
