Mid Week Fun

What a fun day! Finally our frigid temps have left and it was supposed to be in low 50's today! Sweet! So Hazel and I had a fun time at the Boulder rez and then I headed down to Lakewood to meet my good friends Pam and Barb for lunch. We were gonna meet at the Wholefoods which is very close to my " favorite place" so I decided to bring my camera along.

Good thing I did! I had just turned onto Cherryvale road and spotted this guy. It's a sharp-shinned hawk. They do look like cooper's hawks but the red eye is one way to differentiate them.

So we had a great lunch and then I took the gals over to my favorite place so they could see it in person. It was still a bit icy from last week's storm so we just walked to the gazebo and enjoyed the beautiful day.

After the gals headed home, I decided to take a lap around to see what was going on.  Most of the water is still frozen from our frigid temps but the geese didn't seem to care.

It was pretty quiet as I walked around but then I heard a sound and spotted a bunch of bush tits having lunch. They are small and they are fast but my patience paid off and I got some decent pics.

While I was watching the bush tits I spotted another bird. Oh! it was a brown creeper! I love seeing these birds! They spend the summer higher up in the mountains and then come down here for the winter. They too are fast but I got a few decent pics!
Their name makes sense as they creep up and down tree trunks and branches......

Well, that was a very fun filled day! A hike with Hazel, lunch with good friends and I got some photographing in too!

Thanks for reading!
