lots of action

Well, there was tons of action tonight with my owl friends. It looked like rain but I headed over to see my owl friends. Karen, a local gal was the only one there. She saw some cool stuff. A hawk landed near Cher, who promptly chased it away! Then Cher flew off, grabbed a meadow vole and headed back to feed the kids.
Wow! That would be so cool to have seen!

I set up my camera and looked at the babies. OMG! They had doubled in size since Saturday. That was crazy! I got a few cute pics of them and we waited. Sonny showed up with a meadow vole. He perched in a nearby tree for a minute, then flew right into the nest and dropped it off. He immediately flew out of the nest and landed nearby. Cher was nearby and she flew right over to where Sonny was and she was pissed! Seemed like she read him the riot act. He flew off to have a beer with the boys. Cher sat for a minute, then she took off too.
We discussed what had happened and decided that Sonny had not followed protocol. And Cher let him know it big time! Whew! I wouldn't want to piss her off!
