A very fun Monday!

What a great day! I headed up to my friend Pam's house to lend her my extra DSLR camera. Pam lives in the mountains in a beautiful home with her husband, a dog, 2 cats and 2 horses. She gets lots of wildlife and can't get a decent photo with her point and shoot camera. So I offered to teach her how to use it and have some fun with it.

Here are a few shots of her horses.....

On my way home, I decided to stop by my favorite spot in Lakewood. It was 2 pm and the light was pretty harsh but I figured I'd give it a go.

The very first bird I saw was a blue winged teal. I couldn't believe it! I have not gotten a good pic of them ..until today!

There were a gizillion baby mallards with their moms.

While I was photographing the mallards, I heard some chirping. I looked up and saw 2 baby swallows gettting lunch from their mom!

I hung out there for awhile watching the babies chow down:)

I finally moved down the trail and saw this cute little bird. I think it's an eastern kingbird but I'm not sure....

There were 3 snowy egrets flying around. They always seemed to be on the other side of the lake. Finally a couple flew close to me and gave me these shots....

Enjoy!
