This time of year is so much fun! Nests are built and the young are being born. So time is of the essence as they grow up so fast! So I decided to head back down to my favorite spot again. Sure, I was just there yesterday but things are changing fast......
The avocets were my first stop.......
Then one of the geese families posed for pics...
I started walking down the path and I spotted mallard ducklings!
Finally I pulled myself away and continued down the trail. I didn't have go very far to find my wood duck friends!
This sparrow is always in the same tree singing his heart out, so today I took his pic......
I was just about ready to leave when this cute rabbit posed for me......
I was having fun, so I decided to stop at Prospect Park on the way home. As I headed west on the trail I spotted this goose perched on the shelter. Too funny! I wonder if he thinks he's king of the hill!
Just past the geese was a cute pair of hooded mergansers. Check out that gigantic crayfish the male caught! He flipped it around a bit and swallowed it whole! Yum!
I continued on hoping to find the wood ducks. Bam! I found one of the males. I wonder if the female is on the nest???
I was headed back when I spotted this bullock's oriole. Finally! I see their nests all the time but never them. I was hoping he'd land in a good spot for a pic but this was all he gave me...
I knew the light was not good for owl pics but I decided to walk down the other trail to see them. The owlets are growing so fast.
Momma was close by watching her young....
What a fun day! Thanks for reading!
