I've Got You Babe

The title of this segment "I've got You Babe" is one of Sonny and Cher's biggest hits. And one of my favorite songs of all time. Seems to me that song title fits these owls so well. Great horned owls do mate for life and you can feel the connection they have to each other.
The last 3 times I've observed the owls, Sonny has gone hunting and brought back dinner for Cher. The happy noises they make are so sweet!

Yesterday was an amazing day. 65" and sunny. So even as the sun was going down, it was still warm enough that I did not need a hat or gloves:)

Sonny was perched high up in a tree doing his wake up ritual. Stretching, preening and more stretching.
Cher was on the nest as usual. Finally Sonny flew off to get dinner........it took him longer than usual but finally he landed in a nearby tree with his catch in his mouth. It was too dark to get a photo of him and his catch. So I focused on the nest, hoping to get some photos as he flew into or left the nest.
Was able to get one fairly decent pic of Sonny leaving the nest after his food delivery.

Another fun evening for sure. It maybe a good thing that I do not live within walking distance of these owls. I have a feeling I'd be there 24/7 :)
