Owl teachings

I was taking an energy work class at Boulder college of Massage last weekend. How convenient that the owls live about 1/2 mile from the school. So on Saturday I brought my lunch. I ate quickly and headed over to say hi to the owls. Cher was in the nest as usual and Sonny was in his favorite spot also sleeping.
Of course I had my camera and took a few photos but mostly I just wanted to check in and say hi.
I planned to stop by Sunday evening after class. The weather caused me to rethink should I even stop by. It was cloudy, windy and snow/ rain was on the way. I decided it was worthwhile to stop by. If the weather got worse, I could go home.
As I approached the owls, the wind died down and it got very quiet. How magical it felt.  I observed Sonny as he stretched his wings, preened and fluffed up his whole body and then hooted. He does this most every time I'm there. Much like a cat, he feels his body, stretches it and warms it up for the evenings' hunt. I tend to hit the floor running first thing in the morning, so I've been taking lessons from Sonny. Observing, stretching and a few hoots to start the day feel really good:)

Was able to get a few pics of Sonny taking off for the evening......enjoy!
