Peewee has left the nest!

wow! wow! wow! What a fun day! I had been over to see the owls first thing this morning. We had a feeling Peewee might be ready to leave the nest. But she was still there. I also stopped over this afternoon to hang out with my owl friends. And all was fine......
I was just cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and I had the urge to go over and see the owls. I look at the clock and it was 7:23pm. It takes about 20 minutes to get there and I had things to do, so I didn't go. Well, about 10 minutes later my friend Georgia called. Peewee had just left the nest. Georgia had seen her in the nest, turned to watch Horton get fed from his mom in a nearby tree. When she turned back Peewee was on a low branch a few feet off the ground. Argh! She missed seeing it by the blink of an eye.
Well, I dropped everything and said I'd be right over. I made it there in record time and got some very cute pics. How special we felt! We are the only ones to witness this momentous event! Very cool!
Oh yeah, we decided Peewee needed a better name so it is now Penelope. A much more dignified name for sure. Enjoy and stay tuned.............
