Finally, an owl visit!

Whew! Life got pretty busy, so I haven't got over to see the owls lately. So I made time Friday evening to go over for a visit. I met my friends Karen and Georgia and we went in search of the owls. With all the leaves in full bloom, it's quite challenging to find our owl friends. But we were diligent and eventually found Sonny, Horton and Penelope. Sonny was sitting in a tree over the lake. It was a nice spot for him but not ideal for photos. so we just said hi and moved on. We saw Penelope but she was not in the best place for a photo. Luckily, she flew over to where Horton was so I was able to get  pic of her. Horton was the star of the evening. He gave me some great shots and seemed to enjoy all the attention from some kids and their moms that were admiring him :)
Check out Horton's feathers. He's developing those beautiful stripes his parents have. Penelope has a few stripes but she has a ways to go.

I forgot it was summer time and that the mosquitos were out and about. Luckily they left me alone. I'll be better prepared next time!

I'm off to NY to visit my sister and nephews. I may have time to blog but probably not about the owls.
We're planning to see a baseball game at Yankee stadium - Yanks vs Redsox, a kayak trip one day and I'm doing a 5k race with my nephew Craig. His birthday is Saturday, so it will be fun to celebrate it in person for once.

Enjoy!
