We have had some "fun" weather this week! Warm to cold and rainy, then back to warm.
Thursday was a nicy, gloomy rainy day. So I got away with just a few very short walks with Hazel. She was very good dog and just relaxed all day. Friday was still cold and rainy. Hazel was pretty good but I could see she had a bit of cabin fever. So we bundled up and did a short hike near the silver canyon coffee roasting offices. It was fun and no one else was out, so we enjoyed it! I noticed a flock of birds flying around and realized they were mountain bluebirds. Damn! I was wishing I had my camera but the light was terrible. So I made a mental note to come back.
Saturday morning was absolutely gorgeous! So me, my camera and Hazel headed back to find those bluebirds. We had a short, fun hike but no blue birds. So we headed back to the car. Hazel jumped in and I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. BLUEBIRDS!
Ha! More than once, I have gotten the best pics right where the car was parked. I never get tired of seeing these beautiful birds!
Now normally I head out to go photographing on Sunday mornings. But since Hazel got short thrift this week, I knew we both needed a good long hike today. So we headed to the boulder valley ranch loop for a good long hike!
How cute is she!
Hazel and I had a great time. There wasn't much to photograph but did see this bee enjoying the flowers.
As we drove home, I remembered seeing a bald eagle hanging around near the reservoir a few days ago. So I swung by and there he was! Hanging out on an old osprey nest.
I was hoping he would take flight but it did not happen. Always so fun to see these majestic guys!
There were some cute prairie dogs near the eagle. Eagles do not normally eat prairie dogs, so these two did not seem worried.....
What a fun morning! It was just what Hazel and I needed!
