It was cold and a bit snowy this morning, so I stayed in editing photos. Around noon time the weather had cleared up a bit. So Molly and I headed over to see the owls. I decided to park in a different area as it was closer to the path where Horton is. Molly and I walked down to find just one photographer photographing Horton. He had moved from his previous location into an ideal place for pics and to see mom feed him.
Cher was sitting high above him working on a carcass. Sweet! It was almost lunchtime! Cher flew off to feed Pee Wee and then she flew right next to Horton. I was standing about 20 feet away...front row seats for sure! She held the food for him as he picked away. Then she let him hold onto it and sure enough he dropped it! You could see Cher thinking what she should do about that.....finally she decided to fly off. Horton sat there for a minute wondering what had happened......it looked like he might throw a tantrum( just kidding) but he settled down and took a nap!
I could not believe my luck! Well, actually I could. I've been listening to my intuition and it has guided me to some amazing spots for photos. But yes, I was still blown away!
