I have not been to Mt Evans for about 12 years. The last time I was there was with my nephew Kevin. I do have to give full credit to my cousin Aimee for getting me up there again.
Aimee and her boyfriend- Ryan were in Denver for a work conference. They took full advantage of beautiful Colorado and did lots of fun things while they were out here. One day they posted pics of mountain goats on Mt Evans on their facebook pages. Aaah! The light bulb went on and I got up there today to enjoy the beautiful goats.
After you pay the daily fee, it's about a 15 mile drive up a steep and narrow road. There are no guard rails, so it was a bit nerve racking at times. I have no pics of the road cause both hands were tightly gripped onto the steering wheel. Maybe next trip.......
I got up to the top and had to put a jacket on! It was about 45' and the views were just
spectacular! I hiked up one trail and got these pics......
The views were gorgeous but I wanted some wildlife pics. So I went down to the parking area and walked up a small dirt road. I had it all to myself which was excellent! I rounded a corner and a very cute marmot was sitting on some rocks. I said "hello" and he gave me these amazing pics. How cute is he!!!!!
I headed back to the parking area and ran into another group of goats and their young.....
Is it just me or does this goat's nose look like a heart??
What a day! I took about 600 pics so I'll be doing some editing for the next few days.
If you live in the Denver area, get up there and enjoy the views!
