Baby Owl!

 
         My friends and I went to Denver last night for dinner and to see Lily Tomlin. That is one talented and very funny lady! We got home pretty late, so I thought Sunday would be a nice lazy day around the house. But when I got up, I decided to pop over to check on my owl friends. I am so glad I did! Last week all you could see was a ball of fluff and now there was 
a good sized owlet looking out at me. And there is only one owlet this year. The last 2-3 years they have raised 2 baby owls. There are quite a few great horned owls in the area, so perhaps they are helping to control the population.
I imagine this owlet will grow quite fast. Being the only child, she will get all of mom and dad's attention and lots of food!

Of course Cher was very close by......

And Sonny was also close by being a good dad. He was tucked into some branches, so no pic of him. Soon after I got there the wind picked up and it was cold! Plus the owlet closed her eyes for a nap, so I headed home to enjoy a lazy Sunday.....
