Finally, the winds have calmed down! So Thursday morning, I popped over to check on the owls before doing a hike with Hazel. I decided to check on the other family of owls I follow first. It looks like there are two owlets in the nest.....
At first, I could only see the top of one of their heads......
But finally one peeked out at me. So cute!
Mom was close by keeping a close on me.....
Dad owl was close by and then flew up into this tree......
It was a beautiful morning as I walked around to see what else was going on. I must have been close to a kestrel's nest cause this guy started dive bombing me!
I stopped over at the twin lake owls. I only spotted the one owlet but now I was getting hungry. So I headed home for food, coffee and to hike with the Hazel dog!
Today, I went to see the twin lakes owls first. Seems two of the owlets have already flown over to the north side of the path. These guys are way ahead of schedule from my observations. In years past, it took the owls another week or two before they got to this spot.
They were in a scaggly tree which was not ideal for pics but it was good to see them. Mom and dad were close by supervising.......
The youngest owl, Tulip is still in the same tree. She should be attempting to get to the others soon!
I popped over to see the other owl family. All was quiet with the owls but then I spotted the kestrel. It took a few tries but I finally got a decent shot of him ready to dive bomb me.....
Thanks for reading!
